Huh? part duex

Unsure of the concept.
From our local Electric Utility (Consumers Energy) , I was checking our bill online.
Noticed a link :

"The estimated restoration time returned by this application is only an estimate and represents the best information available at this time. Actual restoration times may vary from this estimate. Changes in weather and road conditions, as well as the extent of the outage will impact when service is actually restored. The restoration estimate returned by this application is the same information that is available through our telephone Customer Service Representatives and our automated voice response system. Estimated restoration times are updated regularly as we get better information."

S000... here I am with my home computer, which runs on electricity, connected to my Cable, which runs via electricity (and therefore likely to be affected by the same outage, via Modem, Router, Hub, Wifi (all electric)... but I can get information as to when my electricity might come back on ... to power the devices that I can use to find out when it might come on.

Chicken or egg?

Sorta fits with the "routine" with Sprint LD
You go through the automated bill payment, the robo-voice gives a "Confirm Number" then asks "is this correct?" ...

What committee dreams this stuff up?
